Agricultural Development Department


And it shall assume the powers assigned to it according to Cabinet Resolution No. (101) for the year 2012 AD referred to, through the following sections:

First: The Agricultural Projects Department, with the following powers:

Implementing policies and plans and proposing executive programs for developing and sustaining agricultural settlement projects,
Follow up the implementation of the legislation in force in the field of agricultural reclamation and utilization of agricultural lands in cooperation with the relevant authorities.
Follow-up work on settlement agricultural projects and units in the Kingdom and work to develop and develop them in order to achieve the goals for which they were established in cooperation with the competent authorities.
Provide the necessary technical support for settlement projects in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Carry out follow-up work and supervise the works implemented in the Ministry’s agricultural projects and prepare periodic reports thereon.
Study the requests related to registering lands and farms located inside and outside agricultural projects and units in the Kingdom and ensure that they do not violate the provisions of the legislation in force in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Preparing periodic reports on the department.

Second: – Department of Economic and Social Studies, which specializes in the following:

Supervising the procedures for distributing agricultural and other projects in different regions and solving difficulties that hinder the progress of work.
Study the economic and social conditions of citizens applying for use to ensure that they meet the conditions necessary for the use of reclaimed and state-owned farms.
Collecting studies, information, data and statistics related to the various agricultural projects and benefiting from them.
Complete the conclusion of contracts for beneficiaries’ use of farms in accordance with Law No. 123 of 1970 regarding the disposal of agricultural and reclaimed lands owned by the state and its executive regulations, and follow up the implementation procedures and document them with the Real Estate Registration Authority.
Follow up the collection of farms and units in the Kingdom in coordination with the Agricultural Bank.
Keeping files related to farms, agricultural projects and production units in the Kingdom and following up the implementation of contracts concluded in relation to them – Proposing agricultural marketing plans, programs and policies for settlement projects.
To propose plans and programs related to opening agricultural seasons and the subsequent determination of the necessary quantities of agricultural commodities.
Preparing periodic reports on the department’s work.

Third: The Technical Affairs Department, which specializes in the following:

Implementing the necessary plans and programs for developing agricultural resources, water conservation programs, erosion resistance, transmission dams, and water tanks, and working to benefit from them.
Provide the necessary technical support for settlement projects in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Conducting studies and proposing the necessary plans and programs regarding determining the crop composition.
Determine soil quality, irrigation scheduling system, drainage problems, fertilization and marketing programs related to settlement projects and in cooperation with the relevant authorities and propose the necessary programs to reach these projects for their productive and economic goals.
Surveying projects and dividing them into farms.
Fixing farm boundaries distributed according to the laws and legislations in force and preparing technical reports in this regard.
Preparing periodic reports on the department’s work.

Third: The department for following up palm and olive projects, and it is concerned with the following: –

Supervising the procedures for the distribution of palm and olive projects in various regions, solving difficulties that impede their workflow, and working to find ways and means that lead to increasing and developing their productivity in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Work to take advantage of palm and olive products and open markets inside and outside Libya for achieved production in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Follow up the distributed palm and olive sites and prepare periodic reports thereon.
Supervision and control of wells, reservoirs and joint pumping stations at distributed sites and coordination between beneficiaries in organizing irrigation works in cooperation with agricultural development offices in the sector in areas within its scope.
Follow-up of collecting farm installments in coordination with the Agricultural Bank.
Keeping files related to farms and agricultural projects related to palm and olive trees, and following up the implementation of contracts concluded in their regard.
Proposing what is related to the development of palm and olive trees in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Technical supervision and follow-up of the Ministry’s palm and olive projects and palm mothers station in Sidi Al-Sayeh.
Preparing periodic reports on the department’s work.
