The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal and Marine Resources exercises the responsibility of implementing policies and plans, and setting the necessary programs to implement the legislation in force in the fields of agriculture, animal and marine wealth in accordance with the scientific method that ensures the achievement of society’s goals, and following up their implementation in order to achieve the required goals and results, and in particular it has the following:
Setting the general policies in the fields of agriculture, animal and marine wealth in a manner that leads to developing and developing these resources and preserving them.
Setting the necessary plans and programs to increase agricultural production, animal and marine wealth, in a manner that guarantees abundant production, both quantity and quality, and the preservation of local breeds.
Carrying out agricultural and veterinary quarantine and implementing epidemiological surveys of animal, plant and fish diseases.
Conducting studies and research related to the development of agricultural, animal and marine production and making use of the results of that research by publishing and generalizing their application by various means of guidance and holding seminars and local and international conferences related to them or participating in them.
Work to activate the role of the private sector and encourage the establishment of small and medium enterprises in agricultural, animal and marine activities through various financing institutions in coordination with the Ministry of Economy on issues that require this.
Preparing reports, data, information and statistics on agricultural, animal and marine activities and water resources, studying and analyzing them.
Preparing awareness programs about the importance of natural agricultural and animal resources with a view to preserving them, rationalizing their exploitation and contributing to setting the necessary policies to achieve this.
Granting the necessary permission to import and export animals, birds, pesticides, vaccines, vaccines and veterinary medicines in coordination with the competent authorities.
Study the methods of providing the ingredients for agriculture and land reclamation and raise the efficiency and capabilities of implementation through the optimal economic exploitation of reclaimed lands and livestock and water resources and follow up the implementation of the development plan projects and evaluate them in a way that achieves the goals of the state in this field.
Setting investment policies in reclaimed lands with the aim of achieving the distribution of concentrated population density in cities, as well as the general policy of agricultural cooperation.
Work to encourage, produce, collect, improve and multiply the seeds in order to preserve and spread their use.
Setting the necessary programs for developing and protecting agricultural lands, pastures, forests, reserves, water and fish wealth in coordination with the relevant authorities and following up their implementation.
Encouraging investment in agricultural, animal and marine areas and proposing the necessary programs for that in coordination with the competent authorities.
Implementing legislations related to agriculture, animal and marine wealth, and proposing to amend and develop them in a manner that ensures their compliance with economic and environmental changes, and protecting agricultural, animal and marine lands.
Establishing informative and informational plans and programs, and conducting awareness campaigns and training courses to raise the efficiency of employees in the Ministry.
Setting the necessary plans and programs to control the Desert Locust and agricultural pests, and proposing the necessary measures to confront them and follow up their implementation.
Follow-up agreements and minutes of international cooperation in the fields of agriculture with brotherly and friendly countries and regional and international bodies and organizations and link positive cooperation relations with them in coordination with the competent authorities.
Develop the necessary plans for beekeeping and improvement, and follow up on their implementation.
Monitor the changes in natural resources and take the necessary measures to preserve and develop them.
